LARP Portal Tips

In this section we provide tips specific to each player role.

LARP Portal Tip for PCs:

Help out your PLOT team by using the RSVP feature on the Registration Screen

Most games add their events into LARP Portal for the year and set the open registration date as immediately open unless they have concerns with exceeding a cap.

PCs and NPCs can greatly help out STAFF by providing an RSVP “I Can Attend” or “I Cannot Attend” for specific events pre/post registration open. This allows staff to better plan. You can always update your status if your plans change.

FALL 2023: Please consider looking at all your campaigns and give Plot staff a heads up on your availability. THEY WOULD LOVE IT.

LARP Portal Tip for NPCs:

Your PEL is “JUST AS” Important as a PCs

Calling all NPCs…PLEASE Submit a PEL. During the course of the weekend you have your finger on the pulse of the game… you are interacting with the PCs and you are our boots on the ground, so your feedback is critical.

NPC PELs in LARP Portal are most often customized to capture your specific perspective. Points for submitting a PEL are automatically assigned to the game you assigned when registering.

LARP Portal Tip for STAFF:

Checklist for closing an event in LARP Portal

Closing an event in LARP Portal has a few key steps.

1. Update registrations: add missing NPCs, cancel no shows etc.
2. Review and Approve PELse
3. Assign NPC Points - it is best prioritizing NPCs as they may need the points more quickly at another gamen
4. Assign PC Points
5. Close out or move any unclaimed Donation items
5. Review PEL Question Summary Report
5. Click the “Complete” Button on the Event - this will move it to the bottom of the list

Things to remember

1. Staff can add a late registration before an event is closed so that POINTS can be assigned
2. NPCs can add a PEL even if they did not register via a “missing” PEL link; this will add an NPC registration in the system.
