LARP Portal Feature Highlight
The Player Module
LARP Portal collects only 3 pieces of required information when registering for an account; first
name, last name, and email address. Players have the opportunity to add additional
demographic info like address and phone number, DOB, and even a photo.
The Player module is, as it sounds, all about you the player. The “required fields” are used by
the system and by every campaign as an identifier to grant the appropriate access based on
your roles within a game and for tracking and reporting.
While there are many sub-modules and lots of data, there are several optional fields that bring
true value to you, the player and to staff, that we recommend new users fill in. The benefit of
using LARP Portal is that even if you play or staff 6 games, you are only completing this info
one time, and your info is securely shared only with your games.
PROFILE: These are fields we recommend.
-
Pronouns: These are printed on check-in and check-out reports to help the community with your preferences.
-
Emergency Contacts: This is highly recommended in the event that something unexpected happens at an event.
-
Address: By adding at least your zip code it will help narrow down your searches when looking for games.
-
Phone Number: This enables reminder notices to be texted to you if you choose.
PREFERENCES: Currently we collect 12 notification preferences.
-
Have you ever wished you got a reminder that your PEL was due or that points were
assigned?
-
PC, NPC and Staff can choose which notifications to receive and the method of
communication, Text or Email.
MEDICAL INFO: LARP Portal collects medical information that you feel would be beneficial to
staff.
-
Conditions: List any serious medical conditions that an EMT would need to know.
-
Limitations: List any physical limitations that staff may need to know about when
scheduling activities geared toward you
-
Allergies: List any allergies. Food allergies will be shared with kitchen staff.
-
Info is shared with Owners/GMs and persons assigned the role of medic or kitchen for
allergies .
-
It can also be used to document things like Covid Vaccinations.
SYSTEM SECURITY: Manage your username, password, and security questions.
-
Security Questions: It’s highly recommended to have at least 1 security question to be able to access the “forgot password” self-serve portal. Also, without a security question, people who know you well enough might be able to guess your credentials. It’s not uncommon for people to use their email address and character name and those are easy to guess.
